REMEMBER HOPE
Light of Christ Church has created a beautiful Memorial Garden where we can gather to claim and remember the hope we have in Christ. Jesus said, “I am the Resurrection and the Life” (John 11:25) and God has promised that even “death will be swallowed up in Victory” (Isaiah 25:8). So as Christians we live as people of hope, even when we face the end of our physical lives, for we know we have been born into eternal life.
WHAT IS A MEMORIAL GARDEN?
Light of Christ’s Memorial Garden is a place where the ashes of Light of Christ members, family members, and friends can be interred while we await our final Resurrection. Ashes can be buried in a biodegradable box or poured into the soil of God’s good earth.
This interment of ashes may be done at the end of a Funeral/Memorial Service at Light of Christ, or as a private gathering at a separate time. Arrangements are made through the Church office (847-658-9250).
There are also plaques mounted to boulders in the garden on which the names of those interred will be inscribed in perpetuity.
IS THERE A COST?
Church members, through their gifts, have created this beautiful space. There is a suggested donation of $700 for those whose ashes are interred and names inscribed on the monument to help provide for the upkeep of the garden.
A PLACE OF PRAYER & MEDITATION
Anyone is welcome to use the Memorial Garden as a place for prayer, reflection, and meditation throughout the week.
